We provide a wide range of services covering all your dog grooming needs under one roof. Whether it’s your puppy’s first groom or your dog’s regular “clip & trim”, our bespoke service is based on breed characteristics, your preferences and your pet’s own nature and health, we can provide the perfect package at competitive and affordable rates.
All our canine grooming equipment and tools are professional-salon standard and of course we are a multi-award winning professional dog groomers as well as life-long dog lovers.
Your dog’s welfare is our number one priority, so no matter how well we already know him or her, we will always carry out a health check at each grooming session, looking for any common “dog” issues such as signs of allergies or eczema or any specific issues common to your dog’s breed. If flea or tick treatment bathing is advised – we’ll contact you about it first before starting treatment. We’ll advise you quickly of anything that needs your (or your vet’s) attention.
All puppies need to get used to the big world out there as soon as possible, to help them deal with noise, people and all the new sensations they haven’t yet experienced – and to help them blossom into “good dog citizens”. So grooming your puppy as soon as possible after his or her vaccinations is an ideal way to help with this “puppy socialisation” and getting them used to the sights, sounds and smells of the dog grooming salon! It’s also of course the best thing for puppy’s coat as it grows into adulthood, to have been groomed properly from an early age. Just as with nervous dogs, we’ll never rush grooming your pup and will always handle him or her with plenty of TLC. Of course our regular “health check” will apply as standard.
Bathing and Drying
Dog bathing in our professional bath, using an appropriate shampoo that is natural and kind to your dog’s skin and a conditioner as necessary or requested.
Drying – each dog is dried to best fit their need taking in consideration their breed and coat type using our top of the range professional dryers whilst gently using brushes appropriate to your dog’s size & coat; this also helps remove any remaining loose hair.
This service is also ideal for in between full grooms and it can help keep your dog’s coat in top condition and matt-free.
Double undercoated breeds such as Border Collies and Golden Retrievers can shed heavily during different seasons. Our de-shedding treatment can reduce this by 60% – 80% in turn providing healthier skin and coat growth. This treatment can also be provided for short coat such as Pugs and French Bulldogs. For further information on de-shedding treatment feel free to contact us.
This is a specialist technique used mainly on wire-haired breeds such as Border Terriers etc. This technique is the process of pulling each individual dead hair by hand “no clippers/scissors” therefore can be time-consuming which reflects in the price. Main advantages for this is to help keep your dog’s coat texture and colour. This process is not suitable for every dog, to make sure this treatment is suited for your dog please feel free to contact us.
Clipping – Styling your dog’s coat by clipping is popular for all breeds. We can clip according to your requirements. Each clip style will be tidied up with the scissors to give even cleaner finish. We recommend a “clipped” every 6 – 8 weeks with the owner brushing regularly in between visits.
Scissoring – Scissoring is a specialist technique needing an expert hand, shaping and sculpturing the coat in to your desired style. Compare to clipping, scissoring a time consuming procedure which can reflect in price. Ideal for curly coats, such as Poodles, Bichon Frise and crossbreeds. We recommend a “scissored” every 3 – 4 weeks with the owner brushing regularly in between visits.
Nail clipping is an important part of our overall grooming service and should be done regularly either by your groomer or vet. Overgrown nails can become painful for dogs and lead to health issues.
Ear / Eye Cleaning
These are all a standard part of our overall service at each grooming session.
We are now able to offer a brand new service – ultrasonic teeth cleaning for dogs. Here is how it works:
Protects your pet from oral disease and tooth loss.
A regularly scheduled oral hygiene routine is the best way to protect your pet’s dental health.
We use an ultrasound toothbrush (each dog has their own personal toothbrush) and a specially formulated ultrasound toothpaste. Ultrasound reaches deep below the gum line to kill germs and bacteria and cleans the teeth and gums to prevent the build up of plaque and tartar. At the same time it increases the blood flow to the gums to heal wounds and stop bleeding.
- Gingivitis and periodontitis
- Oral cavity diseases
- Plaque and tartar build up
- Bad breath
It is estimated that by the time they are 2 years old, 80% of dogs begin to show signs of oral disease.
By using ultrasound tooth cleaning as part of a regularly scheduled routine, you can avoid taking your pet to the vet for a professional cleaning, which can only be achieved with full anaesthesia.
Regular teeth cleaning is recommended by veterinarians
Regular cleaning is the most important measure in the fight against dental decay. Ultrasound (air waves – air oscillations) perform the cleaning so brushing is not necessary. Ultrasound cleans more effectively than regular brushing, destroying bacteria even in gum pockets.
Neglecting your dog’s dental health can have other serious health implications, as bacteria from a dental infection can result in other organs being compromised, including the heart valves and kidneys.
Although we would recommend more regular treatment, even having your dog’s teeth treated when he comes in for grooming will be beneficial, as the ultrasound waves kill bacteria right under the gum line and will help to keep your dog’s teeth healthy and consequently improve his overall health. If you notice a build up of plaque, you can book a course of sessions to get back on track.
